Walker, Evan Harris (2000). The Physics of Consciousness: The Quantum Mind and the Meaning of Life.
Whoa. You have got to read this book. It is slightly on the technical side of quantum physics, but not heavy on the mathematics. Mainly talks about quantum physics and how "consciousness" can exist by using computer bit rate analogies etc. A fascinating read. You may not think the same way about "reality" and perception after reading this book...it will expand your mind. Those of you who are Christians like myself will also enjoy the Chrisitan views of Dr. Walker with respect to the quantum realm, creation, and God.Gribbin, John (1984). In Search of Schrodinger's Cat: Quantum Physics and Reality.Teaser:
Would you believe that when you are not looking at something, it merely exists as all the "potential" momentums and positions of all its composite atoms, thus reflecting all of its "potential realities"?
Much like the Walker book above but with a different angle. Takes you through quantum physics as the "fundamental underpinning" of technology, biology, and man in general. Without quantum physics opereating as it does there would be no lasers, TV, computers, microwaves, etc... The quote below sums up the topic of quantum mechanics quite well:"Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it"
--Neils Bohr, 1922 Nobel Prize winning physicist--
